How to use custom skins that only I see on my screen

How to use custom skins that only I see on my screen, do I just install the .dff and .txd files? I tried it once and it gave me a white skin, and the .dff was still the same.

Through the txd workshop, find the model name .txd and click on it, then replace it by clicking import and pick the png file wherever you saved it.
Sometimes custom files have more pictures than the regular ones in the original skin file, so you get a whole new .txd and .dff with the same name, I replaced them but it doesn't work.
Hello, could you tell me where are you installing those files?.
I use ALCI's IMG tool and import (remove if exists) the new .txd and .dff files. I tried it on skin 18 today and it doesn't work, is it because the server has its own mod on skin 18?

If you meant a skin shader that you could modify on your base game and make it work in-game, then no. Its not possible, Client sided skin shaders on MTA have long been disabled, people had to use the 1.3 version of MTA to test out their shaders, meaning the one you can't use it on CIT (current MTA version is 1.5). Correct me if I am wrong, but I do remember seeing this somewhere on our forum.

Also you cannot use a modified skin model (.dff) on CIT, people used to have the infamous small skin mod to cause unbalance and havoc in combat and Brian basically disabled modification of .dll files for peds. When you mod a .dll file and enter the server, you will see a message on the Console box saying it found a modified .dff file and replace the .dff with the original one.

It's literally so easy...? Open your TXD WorkShop, press on Open IMG, go to your GTA SA Files, And find models (It's inside Server>Deathmatch I guess, not sure), inside models you'll see gta3.img, open it. Search for the skin name you're trying to replace, type it in the search bar, for example swat.txd, you must put .txd after, so anyways when you find it, press on it and on the right there will be a name like "swat_body" or something like that, press on it and then find the import button, press on it and choose the PNG you want. When you're done just press "Save TXD", open CIT and use the ID you applied the stuff on. Done.
