About us

We are the official radio of CIT2. In CIT2 Radio we have DJs.
Each of them have their own streaming sessions where they play their music, make mixes, host events and (rarely though) host talking shows.
You can see on what time DJs will stream on the schedule.

When there are no DJs streaming, the radio broadcasts a non-stop playlist which contains Billboard (well-known) songs.
On our site you can create your own profile and view other profiles. To do those stuff you have to create an account on the site. Have fun listening to our radio!

History of CIT2 Radio

Well, I’m Geert, i’m the official founder of CIT2 Radio. I’ve started CIT2 Radio months ago. Before CIT2 radio it was called PAT Radio.
It didn’t have many listeners but now I can proudly say that we have more then 50 listeners on the same time each day and we are just a server radio and still growing! This wasn’t possible without having a team who helps me with alots of things!,thanks.
Regards, Geert.

SAM Broadcaster Guide

Guide on how to set up Sam Broadcaster.
If you don't know how to follow these steps, feel free to ask a Technical Supporter for help.

1. Installation
We recommend you to use Sam Broadcaster. This guide is for SAMBC. So download SAMBC which can be found on the Download Button at the bottom left of your DJ Panel:

Show content

Install it, select Firebird database and keep settings by default.

Note: If you get a message saying " 'instsvc.exe' cannot be found  " during installing, install this with it's default settings.

2. Encoders
Encoders are important, if you don’t have them you can’t go live. Here an explanation on how to create your encoders.
  • Open your SAM Broadcaster and go to your encoders. If you don’t have your encoders on your screen yet then go to 'Window' at the left in the top and select 'Encoders':
    Show content
  • When you see your encoders window press on the '+' button:
    Show content
  • You have now a new screen. Select 'MP3 LAME':
    Show content
  • You get another new window with some settings, follow these screenshots carefully:
    Show content

You will receive the IP and the password after you're invited.

3. Audio
  • You have to import your songs. Press the '+' button at the Playlist window and select 'Add Directory' or 'Add Files':
    Show content
  • Now drag the songs to the Queue window:
    Show content
  • Make sure that the play mode is on 'Play Queue':
    Show content

4. Streaming
Go to your Encoder window and select the encoder. To start streaming press the Play button. To stop it press the Stop button. DO NOT press the red dot. If you are streaming there should be a message saying 'Encoding':

Show content

If you want to let the listeners know you are streaming (so the title will be like for example 'DJ Geert | Martin Garrix - Bangbang'), then right-click on a song in your SAMBC, click on 'Song Info' and type your desired DJ name in front of the artist name:

Show content

Unfortunately you'll have to do that on every song.

Virtual DJ Guide

Guide on how to set up Virtual DJ.
If you don't know how to follow these steps, feel free to ask a Technical Supporter for help.

1. Installation
You can also use Virtual DJ Pro, but not the free version. Use this program only if you have some experience with this program. If you are new with being a DJ then use SAMBC instead. This guide is for Virtual DJ Pro.
Download Virtual DJ Pro which can be found on the Download Button at the bottom left of your DJ Panel:

Show content

Follow the instructions in the .zip file.

2. Broadcast Settings
  • Now open Virtual DJ. Press the settings button which can be found on the top right. Then press the 'Broadcast' tab.
  • After that you have to fill and select the exact same broadcast settings as written here:
    Show content
Server URL and password will be given by your leaders.

3. Streaming
Now press the 'Start Broadcast' button in the settings or the 'BCAST' button on your main view at the 'master' tab:

Show content

If you want to let the listeners know you are streaming (so the title will be like for example 'DJ Geert | Martin Garrix - Bangbang'), then go to your Virtual DJ settings, click on the 'Options' tab and type 'broadcast' in search. Make sure you have selected 'Show advanced options'. Type in 'broadcastSongInfoFormat' your desired DJ name in front of '%Artist - %Title':

DJ Handbook

If you don't know what to do when you have been accepted into the team, read this post.

Work in progress.

2. Communication

We communicate with Skype.
We have 3 Skype group chats. DJ Chat, Important Notes and Management Team (for leaders only).

DO NOT talk in the Important Notes chat without a valid reason.

It is recommended to be online in Skype when you are streaming. People can notice you in case if something is wrong with your stream (e.g. lag, bad audio quality) and you can prevent getting warned.

We also have an in-game chatroom. Name of it is 'CIT2 Radio'. To get the password just ask it to your fellow DJs or any leader.

3. DJ Panel

Every DJ has access to our DJ Panel. To enter it, click on 'DJ Panel' at the right top of CIT2Radio.net. If you don’t see it, you probably don't have access to it yet. To have access please ask a leader+ for it.

In the DJ panel you can schedule your hours, check the rules and check your warnings.
You'll get more features/permission when you have been promoted to a higher rank.

4. Schedule

Schedule is one of the most important things. We use a schedule so people can see who is streaming and when he/she will stream. If you aren't on the schedule then you are not allowed to broadcast.

To take a hour, select the day you want to stream on at the left bar. Then select one of the hours on the right side of the page. Then click on the 'take hour' button.

You cannot take more than 2-3 hours a day.

To remove a hour, take the hour again.
As everyone lives in another timezone there's a clock above the 'take hour' button. Every DJ has to use that timezone so there won't be conflicts.

5. Warnings

When you have been warned, the first time you'll log in you will be redirected to a page about the warning you received.

To check your warning percentage, go to your DJ Panel and click on your username at the right top.
To check all your issued warnings, click on the 'Warnings' button which is next to the warning percentage.

The warning page also shows all your promotions/demotions and warning removals.

If your warning percentage is above 50%, you will be demoted.
If your warning percentage is above 100%, you will be kicked.
Trial DJs will be kicked if their warning percentage is 50%.

If you think you have been warned/kicked unfairly, then please make a complaint at the complaint topic.

5. In-game Song Requests

In-game players are able to requests songs by using the command /songreq.
You can either see the requested songs in-game (Trial DJs excluded):

Or see them in the DJ panel:

To turn on/off the requests, just press the 'Turn requests off/on' button in the Requests page located in the DJ Panel.

Turn off the song requests when your hour is over. Do not leave it enabled.

8. Broadcast Programs

There are a bunch of broadcast programs out there.

We recommend to use Sam Broadcaster as it is easy to use for broadcasting. You can also use Virtual DJ Pro to broadcast in case if you have experience with the program.
Same applies to Traktor. Only use it if you know how to use it.

Here is a list of more programs to stream with. A Technical Supporter can help you with setting it up.
Guides for SAM Broadcaster and Virtual DJ can be found in the posts above.

HISTORY OF CIT2 RADIO.

Well, I’m Geert, i’m the official founder of CIT2 Radio. I’ve started CIT2 Radio months ago.

Regards, Geert.

              Our system
To keep CIT2 radio online we use a non-stop system.
This system costs me(Geert) every month some money and with success
We have more than 30 listeners each day!

How CIT2 Radio Works and its system:

1. DJ
Being a CIT2 Radio DJ brings fun but also some perks. To make it easier for you and me
I made this manual to make everything clear. A DJ has some perks and there are
some main rules which everyone should know and listen to it.

2.Rules
Everyone in the CIT2 Radio team has rules where he / she Must Obey:
1) You are not allowed to broadcast without being scheduled.
2) You are not allowed to broadcast to long as you are scheduled.
3) Do not broadcast flaming, racism or anything else which brings a bad reputation.
4) Do not insult anyone on the radio
5) Do not scam people if you made an event.
6) Listen always to leaders, managers or director

3. Site
Every DJ has acces to our site http://www.cit2radio.net/. On this site DJ's can schedule their own hour, they also can
find all DJ's and their ranks, and we have some more features on it.which will be explained in below...

4.Schedule
Schedule is one of the most important things, if its not your stand(hour to stream) ,then you are not
allowed to broadcast. As everyone lives in another timezone  I did add a link above the
“take hour” which goes to a new site with a timezone. This timezone is the
same  for everyone ,so there is nothing that can go wrong.

5. Requests
As we get alot of people which are asking to play his/her song ,we decided to add a request
line. On the site : http://www.cit2radio.net/request.php  which gives people the abillity
to request a song.

6. Sam broadcaster
We recommend to use Sam Broadcaster as it is one of the stable DJ software which we
know. At the moment we are looking for more softwares which are able to be used on our
radio.
