Tips:

You need to judge yourself before you get judged, based on various stuff as:
-Requirements: You need to fully meet the requirements, otherwise your application won't be reviewed and will get an instant deny
-How often do you post in the server development boards? Are you active enough? Do you deserve to get the rank?
-Your behavior within the community; You need to ask yourself these things: How often do you get punished? Are you a trouble maker? Are you able to hold this rank? Are you ready yet?

Rules:

1. Post count isn't important. But again, someone with 0 posts won't be given a community rank.
2. As a community member, you set an example for future "generations". They should see YOU as a guide. YOU should be the person they want to become. Because lets face it, in a large community like this: the odds of becoming staff are significantly lower as becoming a xCM.
3. As a Community Member you should know what's going on. Know the updates, don't give false answers. Don't know the answer? Don't reply.
4. As a Community Member you should know the rules. If you know the rules, you don't get warned. However, everyone makes mistakes but keep it minimal.
5. You can't skip ranks so cut the "but he skipped one ;(" drama.
6. Don't edit your post once submitted, preview the application before posting it.
7. Can't apply for RCM if you aren't a JCM, can't apply for SCM if you aren't a RCM.
8. Once denied, you should wait at least two weeks to apply again since the day your application was denied.

Application process

Post your application at the Community Ranks board and one of the Forum Membership Moderators (FMMs) will review your application and they'll judge based on various stuff that can help them know if you're ready or not ready yet to hold the rank.
