[Guide] How to make a bind
« on: 23 09, 2017, 10:37:21 am »
Binds are made to have a shortcut for some commands in-game so you don't need to write them all the time in the console.

There are binds for chatboxes; commands and some other ones.

The base command to make a bind is: '/bind /key <command>'

Press 'T' and write your bind then hit 'Enter' on your keyboard, make sure it has a slash (/) before the word "bind".

Chats
Local chat = localchat
Main chat = main
Group chat = gc
Squad chat = sc
Unit chat = uc
Alliance chat = ac
Emergency chat = e
Support chat = sup
Contact Admin = cad
Math trivia = mt
Reply to a current conversation = re
SMS = /sms
Chatroom = /room
Country Chat = /say
Team Chat = /teamsay
Radio Chat= /r
SMS GUI = /messenger

Bind: /bind <key> chatbox (pick one from the right side)
Example:
/bind 1 chatbox gc

Useful:
jetpack (only for VIP's)
hide (hides your current vehicle)
pick (pick a specific vehicle)
recover (recovers the selected vehicle)
lock (locks or unlocks your current vehicle)
Bind: /bind (key) command
Note: For "pick" command. You must specify the ID or the number of the vehicle from your F2. For example, your Banshee is 3rd on your F2 so you should do '/bind <key> pick 03'

Unbind
If you want to remove a bind from a key, you should do '/unbind <key> <command>'
Remember: '/unbind <key>' removes this key from every command in the bind list. Which removes the default binds too (Imagine someone bound a command to 'Z' and wanted to remove it if he used '/unbind z' he will lose some of the basic commands like opening information, markers, or the shop markers) so this actually will make him suffer finding the bind for it.

Note: Executing a command using console (F8 or ~) doesn't need to put a slash (/)

Hope I helped someone!

You should've said the /command instead of the console  usage.
Plus,
Quote
  bind (key) chatbox gc (message)
 bind (key) chatbox team (message)
These are wrong.
If you want to bind a message, don't add "chatbox"
So it should be /bind key command text | /bind m localchat text
And the second one got a wrong command.
Team chat command is /teamsay
So it should be /bind key teamsay text

Since there is nothing against double posting and this reply should appear in the unread replies of the op.

Regarding the unbind command, add specified command, which is /unbind key command.
Because /unbind key removes this key from every command in the bind list. Which removes the default binds too (Imagine someone bound a command to 'Z' and wanted to remove it, if he used "/unbind z" he will lose some of the basic commands like opening an information' markers or the shop' markers) so this actually will make him suffer finding the bind for it.

Also,
Add /ca for contact admin, /room for chatrooms, /sms name for sms, /re text for replying to a message, /say for country chat, /teamsay for team, /r for pilot radio and /messenger for the sms GUI.
