Title: Help test a new build of MTA
Post by: Arran on 14 12, 2018, 11:41:18 am
Download and install this newest build of MTA: https://nightly.mtasa.com/?mtasa-1.5.6-rc-latest

And then post here if your game crashes and any info the crash gives.

This is to help a new MTA developer who made custom animations, called saml1er. The change is called "Improve pool performance" which unfortunately doesn't improve FPS (but I've been told some players have reported increased FPS so worth a try) but is said to open up many doors for improvements to MTA.

In the unlikely event you have serious issues like often crashing or freezing you can install this older build: https://nightly.mtasa.com/mtasa-1.5.6-rc-16074-20181205.exe

Installed this one and now I can't even enter the server. When I try to enter the server, the game instantly crashes.

Try an even older one from https://nightly.mtasa.com/ Click "Show older files" next to "Windows nightly installer" and try one that's a month ago or whatever. TBH sounds more like your PC is messed up than MTA if you're having that much trouble.

If you had problems before this update then I guess it's not related to the update or does the build just before this one not crash at all?

It crashed before but RARELY that happens, the new build it crashed after about 5-10 Minutes. When Pressing the "Windows" Button while connecting to a server and trying to get back inside the game it happens.

Some crashes have been fixed, please install the new nightly https://nightly.mtasa.com/?mtasa-1.5.6-rc-latest and if you get any crash dump file generated at the time of crash inside C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas 1.5\MTA\dumps\public then it would be helpful if you can upload that file to the Internet and post a download link here.

Arran, I was going to take ScreenShots in-game and my game crashed, I have uploaded the file you talked about it and also a screenshot of the GUI I got after the crash

You are using the older version so that dump file isn't very helpful. Thanks for trying though.

I've installed v1.5.6-release-16103 and it looks like the FPS performance is better. Atleast it feels that way, I don't have any comparison material.

Somehow 'Borderless window' at the Fullscreen mode option got fugged up. It's not borderless window anymore.
I've checked 'Windowed', restarted MTA, unchecked 'Windowed' and it seems fine now.

Game doesn't crash for me, I've attempted everything that was reported by others to cause crash and it seems to be working fine. Although, I noticed barely any change in FPS (not better or worse), but I have a very old PC which would explain it not being improved. Anyway, the link you provided in this link seems to be working without issue:

Did you install the newest nightly which was released today? That seems 100% stable. If you have an old PC you would have noticed an FPS improvement more than a newer PC.

Yes I did. After I made this post I saw my FPS jump to 40-45 a few times, but it remained mostly around 30ish, which was the way my old fps was. (Most I would usually get afaik was around 38). So yeah, at first it didn't seem like there was any improvement, but it seems there was indeed a slight improvement. Anyway, it works perfectly, no problems/crashes to report.

I didn't get any crash yesterday, I got one today once after using sniper but that could be due to the usage of a cracked GTA I assume. I don't see any difference in FPS, it's usually stable 59-60, sometimes drops to 52-57 but I have some mods installed however that's the same I had without this update too.

Installed the build, works smoothly and haven't faced any type of issue, everything is smooth, no crashes or anything.
