I've personally witnessed how some players every day constantly report flames in Contact Admin chats even though either they weren't offended or flames weren't even directed at the one reporting. So due to this childish behaviour we've been having players that are frustrated and fear to talk due to childish ones reporting for every small borderline offense.

These are just 2 cases, but the story repeats every day.

From today onwards, pasting chatlogs of local chat supposedly complaining about flames in Contact Admin is FORBIDDEN due to the following reasons:
  • The complained part often doesn't even have the chance to defend themselves
  • The pasted log is 90% of times out of context
  • 99% of times they are one occurence of flaming which honestly is so trivial that a mature person would ignore

What to do then?

  • If someone is complaining in Contact Admin about someone being disruptive and flaming, staff will have to check whether or not the player has been repeatedly flaming through chats staff panel. Mute will be triggered only if the complained part has been repeatedly disruptive/flaming. Otherwise no one will be punished.
  • Forum reports about one time occurence flaming will be classified as trivial and closed without punishment.

Is there something that can still be muted?

Yes:
  • When players offend the dignity of other players, such as discriminative remarks (faggot, nigger, racial discrimination in general) or offending someone that isn't even in the game (relatives, parents, ...). These kind of insults must be reported in forum tho, as the complained player should still have the right to defend themselves,
  • If a staff witnesses a player insulting and the staff is aware of the context they're free to punish the player and take valid evidence of what happened.
  • Public flames are still punishable and mutable directly ingame (main, teamchat, support, etc.). This topic is for those who misuse the trust of staff and get others muted for local chat logs.

What if staff keeps doing this?

I've posted this same thing in staff private board, so if any staff is still approving this childish behaviour and muting you straight away, you're free to appeal and get your mute removed and you're also free to open an injustice case.

Good afternoon community members!

Why do we have rules? Ever since my first day of CIT, I have been reflecting on this as well as a player as a staff member, but the answer always seems to be somewhat out of reach. Some might say that rules are meant to put up borders, for how to act within the community, others might say it is meant for the staff to not get bored, some might even say that that they are in fact not rules, but merely guidelines.

I do not claim to have the perfect answer to this question, nor do I believe there is a simple one, but I know for a fact that rules give us a common ground to walk on, they help us to enforce integrity, they make you no better than me. Nevertheless, enforcing these rules take time and people who can bear this responsibility, however, staff differentiate in judgment, they have different moral codes they follow, some staff members are more lenient than others. That the staff members are different consequentially means that it becomes hard for you to feel equally treated when different staff members have different opinions. All this are supposedly resolved by transparency, you do not get punished just for fun. Before you jump into judging all the changes made or comment upon them, I ask of you to consider reflecting upon future and previous punishments you receive or received, to consider that even if different staff may have told you two or more different things they both followed their moral code which led to that punishment, and surely you can learn something out of it as many of us have on multiple occasions.




Now let's talk about the changes!

Basically, all the rules both in-game and on the forum have been reviewed and modified to make them easier to understand, less complicated and hopefully as a result, we will be seeing fewer arguments about whom interpret the rules correctly. The important part to understand is that no content has been removed, only moved. For example, you may currently lack the democratic rule, however, that does not mean it is non-existence, it will be moved into DS1 board which means that it applies under forum rule #2 now.

If you wish to comment on a rule, ask for a clarification or even suggest improvements then mention me within this topic and let me know what it is that you would like to have clarified or changed to make the rule(s) easier to understand.

- Added the oldest LS turfing system back where some turfs are spread around LS which includes oil turfs and normal turfs. The rewards now depend on how many turfs you claimed. (Java + Mec0)
- Increased the maximum rewards you get from LS turfs from $20,000 to $30,000 and decreased the turf reset interval from 2 hours to an hour so nobody can actually farm money. (Java + Brian)

- Reduced the RPG cooldown from 120 seconds to 80 seconds in LV. (Java + Punjabi)

- Ammunation shops can now be out of stock for a period of time meaning nobody can buy ammo from ammunation shops at a random time but you can still buy ammo from F7 market or even craft them from F9 in case out of stock. (Java + Coke)
- You will now need to '/dverify' in-game and get your account verified to use any kind of Discord => In-game (except finding out online membes) sync, to prevent any kind of mute/ban evading. (Relerx)
- Added 'Automatic Armor Craft' to '/settings' which allows vest and helmet to be automatically crafted when run out. (Arran)
- Fixed being able to bypass the 1 hour wait time of switching between Rebel / Military using '/criminal'. (Arran + Precious)
